The Australian skilled visa operates from a migration program that is based on a points system
and does not require a job offer. Points are awarded on people's age, occupation,
work experience and English language ability. Those with job offers, state sponsorship
or working in occupations in demand will be given priority processing. For those
people that do not qualify on the points system there are other options, like employer
sponsored visas, working holidays and student visas.
