The main modes of transport in London for non-English people are the tube (the underground),
the overground train and the bus. Although these all may seem a little daunting
at first, London transport is actually very easy to understand. There are free maps
everywhere and attendants willing to answer your questions. The tube map is colour
coded so that if you can't remember the name of the line, you can remember the colour.
You can buy daily, weekly, monthly and yearly tickets. These tickets hold more value
for longer tickets, so if you use public transport everyday it is better to buy
a longer ticket. There are 6 zones in London Underground and you can buy tickets
that cover these separate zones. The transport for London site is one the most helpful
sites around and is printed on all tube maps-
